The comedian and writer Mark Steel looks at some of the worlds great thinkers. He is joined on his mission to educate and entertain by Martin Hyder, Emma Kennedy, Bob Monkhouse, Jo Brand, Ainsley Harriott, Linda Smith, Phil Jupitus, Mark Lamar, Tony Benn, Brian Sewell and Shovel out of M People. 

The series was co-funded by the Open University and nominated for a BAFTA in 2004.
