Michael’s very first attempts at filmmaking were in the Ciné Club, whilst a pupil at the Lakes School in Windermere. Since then he has made independent shorts, video art works and projections for bands as well as feature length documentaries for the big screen. Watch Michael’s short films from summer 2020 here.

The 1989 film ‘Beachcomber’ - that Michael made with Cumbrian artist Kevin Carr (1961-2019) - is being shown as part of  West Coast Photo, an exhibition exploring life on the West Cumbrian Coast at . The show, curated by Signal Film & Media, is postponed, but will hopefully return to The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven.
